Fluxyou

Geert-Jan Hobijn (Staalplaat Soundsystem) was in residence in spring 2011 with the project Yokomono Pro Gent (see http://www.timelab.org/en/residency/en/geert-jan-hobijn). In 2010 Staalplaat Soundsystem was in Rome to make an installationpiece with 20 handmade recordplayers. One of them is part of the timelab Collection.

 

'Fluxyou was an installation commissioned by 'Fondazione Musica per Roma, Rome Auditorium”. Staalplaat built 20 hand driven turntables, made from siple needle, paper horn and  found opbjects like a yogurt box. We put contact mic’s on the paper horns and used our own white and transparent model loop-records. '
