The heart as an Ocean is a spatial audio installation exploring the relationship between auditory senses and biometric feedback.
The heart rate of the audience defines amplitude, intensity, duration and form of auditory waves breaking on an imaginary shore.
The installation is part of a larger research scope where the paradigms surrounding interactivity in art are explored by artistic experiments using sensor technology.
Focussing more on experience than on the object, more on communication than on the meta-discours, this broad artistic research field combines theories from linguistics, architecture and systematic musicology into immersive works of art. For the summercamp I’ll be bringing some of the sensor technology we use at IPEM to be used in collaborative projects.
