2009

Gina Haraszti and I have been working in Kitchen Budapest for 2 years.
It is a media lab for researchers who are interested in the convergence of mobile communication, online communities and urban space and are passionate about creating experimental projects in cross-disciplinary teams.

During the Summercamp Electrified we planned to make an installation, based on drawings made in the city of Ghent. We would like to extend drawing possibilities using graphite as a circuit for electricity. The drawn lines can be used as inputs for our digital environment (using arduino or other microcontrollers). Inspired by local the art scene we are open to create locative drawings, like “scanning” the map of the city, walking around, create algorithmic patterns on the streets. Same drawings can control a sonic environment (using the drawn lines, or maybe using some image processing techniques), or can communicate with other artist’s work, which can be figured out during the camp, in an open, collaborative working method.

Biography

I mainly work with sound (traditional and experimental) and image (still and motion) using free and opensource tools. I have a deep interest in interaction design, experimental media, signal processing and sound art. I usually create dynamic systems for installations, doing experimental websites, and build interfaces for audiovisual live performances. My works have been exhibited in Germany, Italy, Poland, and in the Kunsthalle Budapest, Hungary among others.
I performed at the Sziget Festival, the Making New Waves Festival, and at the Pixelache Festival, Helsinki, Piksel Festival, Bergen, Audio Art Festival, Krakow among others. I regularly give workshops on the Pure Data programming language, Interaction- and Sound Design.
